FULL MOON YIN YOGA
Deep stretching and meditative stillness
DESCRIPTION
Everything in life requires balance and the full moon is a perfect time to find balance in your yoga practice. The full moon is a time when the sun and moon are in opposition, creating a balance of solar and lunar energy. This is considered the ideal time for reflection, release, and renewal. A slower and more meditative yoga, Yin allows you to create space and time to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Yin yoga is a still, passive yoga that targets deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments and joint capsules. You’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, typically up to 3-6 minutes. Yin yoga creates deep stretching and lengthening of the tissues to improve flexibility and joint mobility while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit and be present with your thoughts. Props are used to encourage the body to release fully into each posture. Yin yoga facilitates introspection, the release of pent-up emotions and things that no longer serve you. The cool energy of Yin yoga can also help promote deep relaxation and calming of the nervous system. This is sure to be a special evening and is included in class passes and memberships. We hope you will join us!
