Full Moon Yin Yoga
Deep stretching & meditative stillness
DESCRIPTION
Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice that creates space to turn inward, tuning into both mind and body. It targets deep connective tissues—fascia, ligaments, and joint capsules -- rather than muscles. In this mat-based practice, poses are held for extended periods, typically three to six minutes, allowing gravity to gradually create space within the tissues and improve flexibility and joint mobility. Props like blankets and bolsters support the body, encouraging full release into each posture. The practice also teaches you to breathe through discomfort and sit present with your thoughts. With long stillness in poses, Yin emphasizes surrender over effort rather than active engagement. It's an excellent complement to dynamic practices like vinyasa, improving flexibility while calming the nervous system.
